North Cornwall Cluster of Churches The Sixth Sunday of Easter 17th May |
Additional Collect: Risen Christ, by the lakeside you renewed your call to your disciples: help your Church to obey your command and draw the nations to the fire of your love, to the glory of God the Father, Amen Holy Habits – Prayer ‘A tent of meeting’ Try to find time and secret space, a place of focus, to be with God throughout this week. The spare room, a designated chair, a place in the garden, somewhere away from the routine of life, out of the path of distraction. Tell Him about frustrating situations, people and circumstances in your life. Tell him your joys and hopes. Share it all: the good, the bad and the ugly. God loves our honesty. Sunday Services The church continues to be alive and active, but our buildings must remain closed. Zoom is an internet based video conferencing tool that allows a host to invite others to a virtual meeting using a computer, laptop or iphone. Our host for the cluster is Rev’d Geraldine. Zoom is very easy to use and help is available to get you started. David Foster and Marcus Jones have kindly offered to do some one to one teaching sessions over the phone. Everybody is welcome to attend a zoom meeting and it is a lovely way to see each other in this time of social distancing, just let Geraldine know if you are interested and she will invite you along. Revd Geraldine Ashton – 07957 609085 / gezzalou@aol.comPlease pray for The sick, among them Claudia Tom, Rosalind Smith & Jane Windeler and all affected by the coronavirus. Pray for the NHS and all front line workers and volunteers. Remember all those who have died recently including Judith Swatland. We remember those whose anniversary of death occurs at this time including Rosemary Castle, Noel Godwin, Rosemary Ricketts and Ted Childs. Taking it in turns to pray for each other – this week we pray for St Enodoc. Diary Dates & News Sad news from Cirencester Rosemary Jones has let us know that Judith Swatland has died, aged 92. Her funeral was on 5th May and Rosemary was able to attend. Judith used to live locally and worship in the Cluster, and her family asked that this sad news be passed on to friends in Cornwall. Summer Fetes Sadly all of the summer fetes have been affected by the coronavirus precautions. The St James’ Fete at St Kew, which would have been in July, has been postponed until later in the year. The St Minver Fete and the St Endellion and St Peter’s, Port Isaac Fete, which would have been in August, have been cancelled. We look forward to being able to gather again in our communities when it is safe.
