Sunday 23rd May – Day of Pentecost

Please pray for
The sick and all affected by the coronavirus.
Pray for the NHS, care workers and all front line workers and volunteers. We pray for race and gender equality and for all victims of race or gender crime and brutality. Pray for everyone on their own or unable to be with their family.
Remember all those who have died recently. We remember those whose anniversary of death occurs at this time including Geoff Burton.
Taking it in turns to pray for each other – this week we pray for St Minver.
Home Groups and Daily Prayer
Our Home Groups are staying in touch via phone, email and social media. We are praying regularly, especially at 9am. If you would like hard copies of spiritual resources, or need help getting on to facebook, please contact

The Cinnamon Trust Port Isaac area (Trelights)
The Cinnamon Trust is the national charity whose wonderful volunteers help people over retirement age and those in the latter stages of a terminal illness by offering all kinds of free pet care. We urgently need dog walking volunteers to support a local resident and their lovely dog, so wondered whether any of the church family might like to volunteer to help or if you could help us to spread the word about the trust and our need for volunteers in the area. If you are able to spare an hour a week this would make all the difference to the owner being able to keep their furry companion living with them, any help you are able to offer would be most gratefully received.
We would love to hear from anyone who is able to help our contact details are – email – appeals@cinnamon.org.uk – tel – 01736 758701- for further information about the trust and what we do our website is www.cinnamon.org.uk

Not your average Archdeacon licensing!
The new Archdeacon of Bodmin, Revd Kelly Betteridge, will be licensed in unique style, at a Pentecost celebration this month. The interactive, all-age service will especially welcome children and young people, and will be held at St Petroc’s Church, Bodmin at 4pm on May 23.
We are asking all those attending to wear something red to the service and to bring on an A4 sheet of paper, a drawing or a piece you have written about something worth celebrating in your church or community. Make it as brightly coloured as you can!
More details will be available on the diocesan website in the coming weeks including where you can watch online if you cannot be there in person.

Julian Meeting
The Julian Group and anyone who would like to join us, meets each in our own home at 7pm every Thursday. We light a candle and read a passage from the Bible followed by silence. Then we read the second passage followed by silence and ending with Compline or our own prayers. Different members choose the readings each week. 7pm on Thursday 27th May the readings are Psalm 145 and Matthew 22: v 34-40.
Goods for St Petrocs
As it is not possible to have collection boxes in the churches at the moment this is a reminder that St. Minver Post Office is an alternative collecting point.
The best way to help the Bodmin branch of St Petrocs to buy fresh food is electronically. Details for doing this have changed as Bodmin has a new House Manager, Gary Hales.
